| Westin Annapolis Completes $2.1 Million Renovation to Upgrade Meeting Space | | | | Davidson Hotel Company | | By: Adds 2,000 Square Feet of New Meeting Space | | ANNAPOLIS, MD., April 22, 2009—Officials of the 225-room Westin Annapolis in Maryland today announced the property has completed a $2.1 million renovation to convert existing employee offices into 2,000 square feet of new meeting space. The hotel is managed by Davidson Hotel Company, one of the nation’s largest independent hotel management companies.
“The Annapolis market has a high demand for meeting space, particularly from the large legal community and local pharmaceutical companies,” said Patrick F. Lupsha, Davidson’s chief operating officer. “This led us to reassess our property mix of space and create our new, state-of-the-art suite of meeting rooms. By relocating our hotel offices within our mixed-use development complex, we were able to create a viable new source of revenue”.
Leading Edge Design and Systems, a prime supplier of critical systems and technology, engineered and installed state-of-the-art, multi-room video conferencing, training and entertainment capabilities in the hotel. The Congress Board Room received a large screen, high resolution LCD monitor capable of displaying images from multiple-source inputs, which allows for advanced video presentations. Additionally, the room was outfitted with a 12-station computer/video with audio interface incorporated into the conference room table. The adjacent Constitution Board Room was equipped with the same large-screen LCD display and offers state-of-the-art video teleconferencing technologies. A third, dividable room can be combined with one or both of the others through the distributed audio system for entertainment purposes.
Additional upgrades, by room, include:

- Multiple in-ceiling microphones
- Distributed audio speakers
- 65” LCD HDTV display

Also, both board rooms were equipped with Krug Virtu Series Conference Tables, featuring Herman Miller Aeron Chairs, a credenza with a mini-refrigerator, framed abstract paintings and custom framed mirror. The pre-function area was given designer drapery from Switzerland with a geometric design and pinch pleats, as well as blue full-grain, aniline-dyed leather benches with a woven leather-embossed pattern and designer brown and blue-grape carpet with a geometric design.
